Each footstep that I took made a crunchy noise, as my foot became imprinted on the hard snow; but then I heard a branch break behind me. I turned around and used my flashlight to see what might be behind me, but all I saw was a broken branch and the thick white snow that is covering my path. I turn around and continue to walk forward.
